Junior Development Program

Expectations of successful applicants.

To be considered for the program, applicants must:

Maintain current Auscycling race membership
Be an advocate for Club MUD
Not to affiliate with another Club or Sponsor for the duration of the 2025/2026 race season.
Be available to act as a rider mentor for Mini Muddies (Dates TBC).
Attend most Club MUD ride days/events assisting with set up and pack down where possible.
Assist with the Dirt Critters program on Tuesday nights in Term 4, 2025 and Term 1, 2026.
Be a leader, empowering younger riders, encouraging fun, and promoting a "do your best" mindset.
Assist the Club MUD Committee with Wednesday night shuttles

What Club Mud will Provide you

Successful applications will receive:

Payment of entry fees for the VDHS rounds
Guaranteed entry to 2026 KOB rounds
Club MUD Jersey
Pair of Pants or shorts - to be agreed on by both parties
Club MUD gear bag
Bike Mechanical support (where available)
Support with accommodation options for races
Development days - Riding development and Bike Maintenance - To be confirmed.

VDHS / Club Supported Rounds

For the 2025/2026 season, Club MUD will be actively supporting riders at the following three VDHS rounds:

R 01 Mt Taylor - 4th/5th Oct 2025
R 02 Mt Major - 22nd/23rd Nov 2025
R 06 Mansfield - 14th/15th Mar 2026

These are the minimum required rounds for participation in the program. Riders are welcome to attend additional rounds, and Club MUD will provide support where possible. Also the possibility for entry to Club MUD King of Ballarat (KOB) 2026 (Date TBC).

Parental Support Commitment

The success of this program depends on active involvement from parents. Parents of successful applicants must agree to:

Race Day Support: Assisting with transport, setup, and supervision
Working Bees: Take part in scheduled track maintenance days
Wednesday Night Shuttles: Help with shuttle logistics and support-
Shuttle Days: Helping with logistics and rider support
Club Events: Volunteering at races and social events hosted by Club MUD
